There was no access to free water outside of your room, if you wanted water you had to pay for it.

The breakfast had a wide range of options and there was no limit on the refills.

The hotel was in general old and shabby. The shower in our room didn't work. The water in bottles put in the room wasn't for free (normally, the 4 star hotel rooms have free water and the rest of the drinks are paid for). The wifi was terrible, it went on and off. Breakfast was decent, not excellent as per other reviews. The pool area was also old and not really working, the pool bar was never open and I think it is not operational. Overall, the hotel is far from 4 stars, it can be rated as 3.

The location of the hotel was excellent. The staff was friendly and spoke English. The hotel was clean, and the cleaning service was good and timely.

Old building, old rooms, it needs an upgrade

The hotel needs a upgrade, it’s old. However, it’s a good location to stay a few nights. Accross the hotel there is a nice cafe with live music which we really enjoyed. We had good caipirinha’s at that cafe :-) Breakfast at the hotel was great! And the staff was friendly and rooms were clean!!

My room smelt and was freezing cold, then I turned the AC down and the floor was covered in condensation. The hotel is very run down. The door to my veranda didn’t close properly. One morning the hot water didn’t work in my shower. The WiFi didn’t work in my room at all. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. This should not be a 4 star hotel.

Continuous problems of access to WiFI in rooms (low signal strength). WiFi ok in lobby (strong signal). Several unsuccessful requests to remedy this made. Then changed room once due to this (not much better) Lifts often not functioning, once 'trapped' in lift. Minimal restaurant menu for lunch & dinner, but buffet available. Rooms 'oldish', 'worn/aged'.

The room is too small for a family, 2 adults and a 4 year old. To just add a single bed next to the double bed makes the room too crowded.

Due to the old air conditioner, room floor got totally wet. I slipped on a floor when I went wash room at night. Breakfast was boring, most of the food offered was carbohydrates and salty sausage slices.

When in Belém, i always stay at this hotel, but the rooms could use a renovation. Our toilet was leaking, the bathroom ceiling was cracked, the panel by the bed where the electrical outlets were, came off the wall. I won't complain too much because you get what you pay for after all. As long as food is good and the place is clean, I'm content.

The staff was incredible, very friendly, attentive, and responsive. The food was divine, very fresh and tasty , also had a plethora of choices.

Facilities way too old and cleanliness not good...debris around, towels were yellowish not really looking washed...dirt spots on the shower...just very upsetting.

I really liked the breakfast. It was delicious 😋 ...super nice and lovely staff. Omelet was great. Muito bom!!!

biggest problem was internet in room- must have for me. Worked fine in hotel lobby, but not at all in room. Staff took several hours of saying "technician is there checking, else will change room to resolve." none of which happened . Sympathetic to internet issues in Belem, but this far exceeded norms for a 4* hotel

it is very outdated, old and run down. needs refurbishing in rooms and throughout the hotel. DIY obvious fixings everywhere. (bathtub set in place with visible glue, noisy bed, had to request batteries to be changed on both remotes, stained carpets throughout the hotel, the pool area looks like an abandoned ground (no sunbeds, chairs, or any kind of service provided in or around this tiny pool). European hostels have better conditions.

I really enjoyed the breakfasts, very good spread and the staff was very nice and helpful.

it’s old and a bit dumpy. the staff were helpful. the wifi didn’t work in the rooms. only in the lobby. it has the best water pressure of any hotel I’ve stayed in. 😀

Hotel equipment was old and simple than I had expected. No water was available in the room.

The staffs are helpful and kind. Had Castanha do Para at breakfast. The location is quite nice just in front of Praca Repubulica.
