Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe bed was a bit too high for me personally and was unsure if you could use the coffee, tea or hot chocolate without a further charge.
The location of the room to the centre of Birmingham to the 02 academy, restaurants and Birmingham New Street train station, the cleanliness of the room, the bow details in the toilet paper and the swan towels on the bed.

United KingdomParking needs to be better signposted and or described on the website. The front of the hotel is on Exter Passage, as is the car park. The back of the hotel forms part fo the Gulf garage forcourt, which you see as you drive up Holloway Hill! However once this had been sorted, all was good. Parking is secure and well lit. Electric charging is available, bring a cable!
First time I have stayed in a 'self serve' hotel [i.e. unmanned] and have to say it was a breeze. Whatsapp mesaage provided access and room details and the room was nicely furnished, although wasn't the biggest I have stayed in. Clean, comfortable and a pleasant environment to spend an evening. Special thanks for the person on the other end of the whatsapp messages who were friendly, attentive and very helpfull

BrazilWhen I booked I didn't realize that is was an unmanned place, so I found it to be a bit weird, but the self check-in was extremely easy, nice accomodation.
The room is very clean, the bed is comfortable. Everything recently renovated. Very close to the station. I went to see a concert at O2, brilliant location for that.

United KingdomNo towel hooks or rails in the bathroom. Only 2 tea bags! No kettle - there is a coffee machine which dispenses hot water but it was a pain to use and I had to message for instructions - and after a couple of uses it stopped working all together. Cups were takeaway plastic/card - I’d have liked a proper cup and glass. Main issue for me was location. I didn’t feel safe walking back here on my own at night.
The stay was good. Check in was smooth and I was allowed to drop a bag off early which was appreciated. For the price I felt the facilities were pretty good. It was comfy, and quiet. I liked the yoga leaflet with a QR code for my morning workout! I was easily able to navigate the TV and log in to my Netflix.

United KingdomNo reception. No staff, no bar, no restaurant just no one to speak to. Soulless! That is not a hotel it’s just a room to rent. Couldn’t work coffee machine, no instructions, no kettle. No iron Unable to use TV as required passwords, that’s not 5 star facilities. Awful view. Couldn’t get in front door as access code didn’t work. £25 to park! Outrageous rip off!
Comfortable bed. Clean bathroom. Good shower. Decor very nice.

United KingdomFirstly this is a self service hotel. No staff on site and need codes to get into the property and then your room so it lacks that welcoming feeling. The room was cold and the air con didn’t work at first. My wife and I were sat in a room for an hour waiting to see if the handy would show up or to be put in another room. The woman on the phone from the helpline was very friendly and helpful and for sure tried her best to solve the issues and she also aloud us to enter an hour before check in which was nice of her. She then offered us the mini bar on the house for the trouble which we appreciated. Although is has a lot of tech in the room, a few things (lights/ power inputs/ electric blinds)didn’t work. I’m sure these things will be working in the future as this seems to be a very new business. We would stay again.
Well situated and clean
