Quite a compact room and the bed felt a bit on the small side with lumpy pillows, and only one robe which was odd. It was a bit of a pain getting a seat in the bar when we returned to the hotel later that evening. I’d usually have a drink in the hotel bar before turning in for the night. Part of the experience frankly. We were accommodated but it was a bit of a drama.

Beautiful building, very attractive decor. Friendly, personable staff throughout. Comfortable bar, with a decent selection of drinks and good service. Very well presented and cooked food in the attached restaurant. Very good, central location.

An exceptional stay. The rooms are chic, large and super comfortable. Beautiful Penhaligons toiletries! Nespresso machine, yoga mats and lovely china mugs in the room! The bar is also stunning with welcoming staff and excellent service. Breakfast was delightful.

There was really loud banging and clashing from 6am in the morning somewhere underneath our room. This went on for several hours which interrupted our sleep.

Noise from floor above (we had asked for top floor because, having stayed at the hotel previously, we knew this to be a problem (it's an old building with timber floors).

Breakfast is way too expensive. my friends and I generally eat light in the morning, so paying £18 plus per person for a cup of tea, orange juice and cereal is extortionate. I think you need to offer options for breakfast. Sorry wrong box....

The bathrooms are very spacious, but keep in mind that due to the hotel's age, the design isn't suited for some modern amenities. For example, there's no separate shower stall, only a shower over the bathtub which might be a concern for elderly guests. Additionally, there's no concierge service to assist with luggage, and there are stairs between the elevator and some rooms, requiring guests to carry their suitcases themselves.

This is a historical hotel with a grand building and a fantastic location. While newly refurbished, the rooms offer a comfortable overall experience.

Only one robe in room. No slippers. However sure this would have been put right if we'd mentioned it. Initially did not have a do not disturb sign and was surprised to find housekeeping in room when returned from breakfast. Also a little more observation could have been used regarding replenishing tea, milk etc.
