Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe pool water was extremely salty and found the chair cushions to not be very clean (i.e. hair etc.). The street from the hotel to the main shopping street is a little questionable but it is a short walk and we didn't have any difficulties. Driving in Palermo is quite stressful with the amount of traffic.
The hotel is located very close to the main street filled with restaurants and shopping. The room and terrace overlooked Palermo and you could hear the sounds of the city including church bells. Our room also opened to a beautiful inside courtyard where there was a pool and you ate breakfast. We were very lucky to get a parking spot outside the hotel and the police station is located very close to the hotel.

United StatesA/C wasn’t very cool. It kept the room moderately cool but the weather was pretty mild while we were there. Not sure what that would have been like if it were really warm out.
Beautiful hotel. We had read some negative online reviews prior to arriving so we weren’t sure what to expect. Everything was lovely though and the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more attentive. We had a great experience at Casa Nostra. Highly recommend!!

GreeceWe had an excellent stay at this hotel. Casa Nostra is located in the heart of the city, few meters away from Massimo Theatre. The junior suite are excellent in every way, the staff and the team are very helpful and very warm. The garden is really magnificent, it is very pleasant to take your breakfast outside on the terrace. We'll definitely come back.

United KingdomNothing. I really liked this place!
I loved this hotel! It was way more than what I expected. Superb! Nice, polite and friendly staff. Impeccable service. Exceptional design, elegant and very comfortable. I like going to different places and hotels but if I come again to Palermo, I won’t think twice about going back to Casa Nostra. And the breakfast… delicious! Quality products service 100/100, I’m mouth watering just to remember that.

United KingdomThere is a lot of dog excrement on all the surrounding pavements; it’s best to walk-in the steer and risk the cars and scooters. There was no rubbish bin in the room, only a small one in the bathroom. There was no written information about the hotel services eg spa in the room.
Breakfast was good, although it didn’t start till 08.00. Plenty of healthy options as well as the usual cakes. The area looked a bit unprepossessing at first and was quite raucous in the evening, this didn’t impact on the rooms. The hotel isn’t very accessible by public transport mainly because the streets in the area are too narrow for buses.

United KingdomWe had to leave
The hotel exceeded mine and my partners expectations, the staff was generally welcoming and warming, anythings we asked for they was able to help with. They recommended few bars and eating places which where nice, they also delivered fruit to the bedroom of morning as we didn’t go down for breakfast one morning. The break was lovely and nice start to the day. The manager was on hand anything we asked by person or What’s app and he also allowed us to checkout late so I could use the spa, the two ladies on reception was very helpful one the ladies opened the spa of evening as think it was closed as no one was using it but she opened it for me. The rooms have very Italian feel to them, which is nice. And the spa is very lovely, i personal think it is best one I have been to and myself and my partner i do like to travel and try different spa hotels. It has everything you could want in spa steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and full body showers. It was nice to have out siesta of an afternoon in the spa.

United StatesWe could have stayed longer.
The location was great. You are in the heart of the historic district; then a short walk on cobble stones and you are in the main shopping street. Tons of shops, street vendors, cafes, restaurants, all of it. The hotel staff themselves are very very hospitable. They guide you every step of the way, via text or in person. We had a room that had a jucazzi bathtub on the private balcony, after a long day of exploring it was the best thing. The day we arrived the hotel staff made sure to run a hot bath for us. Breakfast is full of treats, plus you have a hot menu. The sitting area of the breakfast is lovely. You feel like you are in an old Riad in Morocco. It's gorgeous. All the staff want to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible.

United StatesAfter a certain time of day there was no hot water. As we were there on vacation we often came in late and had to take cold showers. I'm not sure if it is a cultural thing but there was no trashcan in the room other than a small one in the bathroom. We essentially just made a pile for our trash and got a bag from a grocer to put it in.
The breakfast was absolutely amazing. It is very clear that they take pride in their hotel. Vincenzo at the front desk was incredibly nice and professional. He remembered details about my husband and I and always made sure to provide the best recommendations and advice for what to do. The hotel was clean and we never felt uncomfortable during our stay. We were in walking distance to all the shops and restaurants, and finding a place to eat great food was less than ten minutes away.
