Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanSome of the staff wasn’t that friendly. They don’t speak English but luckily i was with my friend that can speak a good Japanese.
We got a river view room , it was nice to have snacks in front of this view, they provided a baby crib for my 1 year old daughter. Also they allowed my baby to enter the onsen with no problem and the onsen has a good facilities for kids such as baby soap ,bathing mats, bathing chairs and a little toys. They have also a baby crib in the changing room for small babies. So as a mother I did not have any complications having my little baby with me in the onsen . The hotel is so close of one of the prettiest park in Sapporo and 4 to 5 mis walk to the nearest station. So many convenient stores nearby.

AustraliaThere were stains on the carpet floor, chips on the walls and lights in the room are super dim. There is simply not enough lights. They don't make the beds when they come around every day, not that we mind but some people might. They cleaned or at least put the mugs away but didn’t give us any new tea in the room so we could only have tea the first day we were there. The Onsen is super packed, like all the time! So shower spots are limited.
Big Hotel. Room has everything you need. They replace towels and room clothes every day and tidy room. The Onsen is cool. An indoor one, a spa one with jets and one which is part inside and part outside with a door in the middle. Big lobby and fancy atrium restaurant with plants inside. There is another restaurant and gift shop on level 2. They also have busses that go to some ski resorts but aren't cheap so we didn't use them. Its a short walk from Nakajimakoen station. They have luggage storage service.

AustraliaQuite expensive although understandable given the snow festival and many tourists in town. The gym was adequate for low/infrequent users. Light weights (max 10kg)and two treadmills. Note that check-in is not until 3pm (similar to many Japanese hotels) although you can leave your luggage securely.
Very convenient location with two subway stations nearby. Easy train access from the airport. Walking distance to the town centre. Excellent onsen. Adequate (not excellent) fitness centre. Comfortable, spacious twin bed room with good beds. Several restaurants in the hotel, the main one with a Spanish flavour, although many other choices nearby. Perfect for our recent trip to the Sapporo snow festival.

CanadaNo tattoos allowed in the onsen. Getting to the main area is about a 10-15 min walk away. We were fine with that but if you want to be in the heart of the action this might not be your place.
Quiet location outside of downtown. Laundry, work area and gym were good. Breakfast was also good. Room size was really large for Japanese standards.

AustraliaBed and pillows were very hard. I booked a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor, but when i first entered the room, it smelt very strongly of stale cigarette smoke. I used so much of the air freshener to reduce the smell.
Nice spacious room, with good view of the river. Staff were friendly and professional. It was nice to have a couch and table. High floor was good for reduced outside noise. Close to subway station and a walkable distance to Susukino.

South KoreaThere was no wardrobe, so no convenient place to put our clothes. The TV didn’t turn so it’s hard to see from the far bed (we had a triple bed room). It’s close to the station but there aren’t many eating options nearby so we had to walk to Susukino at meal times. We didn’t like walking past the smoking room when going through the entrance due to the smell, it should be moved elsewhere.
This hotel had a nice, professional atmosphere to it. It’s also very close to Nakajimakoen station (less than 5 min walk). We were pleased to leave our bags before check-in and after check-out with no issues. The breakfast in the Terrace restaurant was a bit lacking in variety but fine for just once. We didn’t try the other breakfasts but instead picked things up from the convenience store which is very nearby. The beds were comfy and room temperature control easy to use. We also liked the shower pressure, large towels and spa, which we used daily.
