Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWeird check in, all automated, animatronic dinosaurs (?!?) at the desk...just weird. And then there was a little robot in the room, speaking Japanese, which I didn't understand, and didn't know how to turn off. Just weird, and unnecessary.
Nice room, bay view. No real desk or chair, though. Strange layout, but fine.

SwitzerlandBreakfast was not pleasing to us; I'd recommend not getting it unless you like the local style breakfast.
The location was closer to the station than we expected. Took a taxi there and the meter never moved. We walked back the next morning - less than ten minutes walk. The onsite Onsen was lovely and relaxing. Children enjoyed the projector room and we enjoyed the ocean view room. Checkin with the dinosaurs was cool, though with two rooms in one reservation, it didn't work and we needed a staff member to assist us. It was quick enough anyway.

AustraliaWe had a twin room which was reasonably sized although the beds were very hard and the room had a robot that would not stop talking unless it was covered with a cloth. We tried turning it off as per the provided manual but it did not work.
Location is close to KIX airport/ train stations, although does require at least a 10min walk to get there. The dinosaur check-in is a cute novelty.

United KingdomThe shuttle bus to the airport was suspended with no reason given. Taxis are only available by the station which is a 10 minute walk away or via phone if you can call (we couldn’t). When we stayed there was torrential rain getting to the airport turned out to be quite stressful. The welcome dinosaurs and room robots are fun initially, but the actual staff are super-helpful and much appreciated!
The sea view & spa sea view are amazing. The onsen facilities are huge (with dozens of showers) compared to the others we’ve stayed in. Our room was spacious too. Staff were helpful, especially via email before and after our stay.

QatarThe description of the room on booking.com does not quite match what we got. The facilities list: hot tub and open-air bath. In fact the hot tub and open-air bath are in the main public bath, not the room. The robot in the room was annoying. I thought it would be fun but it was difficult to change the language and kept 'waking up' when we walked into the room. The check in was also frustrating as the system couldn't initially find our reservation as they'd booked it with the names reversed. This required a person to come out of a room at the side to assist. There were long queues at reception with only two computers to use. They used to have a shuttle service to the airport but they don't have this anymore and the walk to Rinku Town station with luggage is rather long but do-able. They should restore the shuttle bus at least to the station.
We booked the deluxe sea view room which had a beautiful view. It was lovely to fall asleep watching the boats go past and also the planes taking off in the distance. The room was comfortable and clean. Ok for a night before an early morning flight. The reception dinosaur robots were fun! The hot spring spa was lovely too.

AustraliaThe robot check-in was a bit frustrating, when we needed to still call human staff (with limited English) to deal with our specific circumstances. All was sorted well, but not what we needed after a long flight.
Very clean and modern rooms. Location is great, only a 10 minute walk (with luggage) from the Rinku town train station, which is only a 5 minute train ride from KIX. The onsite Onsen were excellent.

Check-in was smooth, so was the check-out. Luggage delivery available, the staff not really speak english but still seamlessly communicate and understanding what we want. Very close to airport. However, if you want to explore Osaka better stay in Shin-osaka area. But, i am not regret staying here. We spend 1 night after landing & 1 night before our departure so we had extra time and no rush to airport.
