How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I like Robohon, the robot in the room, but he doesn't work properly. I realise later he got a camera, so be concern a privacy. No bottle of water supply for guest.
I leave my luggage for a couple days and the staff is very very helpful.

great location! super clean and reasonably priced! also, when the rain started they lended free umbrellas! those little things make a difference. if i hopefully visit osaka again I would probably stay here again.

Our Robot was a bit confused with languages 🤣
The check-in and check-out with dinosaurs made the whole experience and went smoothly. Perfect location, very comfortable and clean.

The rooms were on the small which we didn’t mind but they were not very clean. The ceiling fan in the bathroom was encrusted with dust and the carpet tiles in the rooms were coming off so it was easy to trip over. No coffee was available and the green tea sachets were not refilled after the first day.
Great location and fair price. Washing machines were available for use and breakfast was okay.

Yes, the dinosaurs at reception are a gimmick. Yes, they filled me with joy every time I saw them. Rooms are small but comfortable. We had a triple and there wasn't a lot of floor space, but the location is right in the middle of everything. Only a few minutes to several train stations, and five minutes to Dotonbori.

The pillows were a bit firm but honestly after a day out exploring your so tired it doesnt matter.

Dinosaur concierge greets you and bows to you when you check in and out, but also real human concierge available to answer any other questions or concerns. The rooms were quite spacious and bathrooms were very clean.

Breakfast was disappointing. It included a tiny portion of eggs, edamame, salad leaves and bread. Also tea and coffee.
Dinosaur checkin was an excellent novelty. Hotel was clean and in a good location for travelling around Osaka. 8 min walk to station and lots of amenities nearby.

We would have preferred if there were two pillows available, rather than a single one for comfort.
Great location in Namba, close to both attractions and the metro line. We enjoyed the novelty of the check-in process and our dealing with the human staff was good as well.

The location was fantastic, close to everything with a few cafes serving proper Italian style coffee. The rooms are not huge but good value if you are traveling light.

booking through third party website led us to some hiccups during check in--we were not able to self check in and had to call the staff. their english was not very good but we were able to communicate via smartphone translator. we were only given one key even though we were two people. we lost something in the lobby after breakfast one day. the staff was not helpful and did not try to recover the lost item for us.
great location. it was not noisy at night in our room. we were able to use the self accessible lockers before check in. the room was clean and the bathroom is big. good water pressure for showers.

The "robot" dinosaurs in reception are just animatronic and don't actually interact with you but that was fine really. Just don't expect robots. Robohon in our room only seemed to offer very basic robot functions also. We had no view to speak of but it was only a one night stay.
It's a very convenient and good value hotel. The room was clean and comfortable enough at the price point. The location is handy for Dotonburi and other nearby areas. It's very safe and the luggage storage was brilliant for us.

The robot concierge was useless. So I don't recommend paying the upgrade. It was only a 2 dollar difference for me, but it was definitely not worth it. While I appreciate the japanese bath and toilet being in separate spaces, the water closet was a bit smaller for those taller than 6ft 2. Additionally, the vent fan in the bathroom did not work (as in it would not turn on.)
The robot check-in was easy and not as intimidating as I expected it to be. Plenty of food, shopping, and coffee in the area. Additionally, it is extremely close to the lights for those who want to take a stroll in the Osaka night lights of Dotonbori or Shinsaibasuji. The human staff were great as well. The bed was a weird French thing, but this is the hen na, so I gave it a try, and in the end I approve of the weird space future mattress.
