Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

IsraelThe carpet in the room was not clean and there was a stain on the headboard… we expected a different level in that area. Also, it’s a business conventions hotel, so there was a lot of “traffic” in the elevator and lobby, and a line for breakfast tables.
Very nice hotel in a quiet area of the city, excellent service and very nice amenities… The 37th floor lounge was a nice getaway and the 27th floor pool area was really nice (when entered the at right time and not too busy)

United KingdomIve stayed at other Okura hotels before and this hotel felt a bit empty. There was almost no interaction with any staff whenever coming in and out of the hotel. In comparison the Okura kyoto has some of the most amazing and most welcoming staff i have ever seen which made me enjoy my stay much more.

The room was incredibly spacious and had a lot of amenities and the bed was also very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely too - only hope that there would've been a bit more options for vegetarian food.

Fantastic facilities and service, staff was kind and always eager to help. I had an accident and broke my foot during my stay, the staff helped bring ice to my room several times, arranged a taxi to bring me to the hospital and loaned me a wheelchair for me to use. Really impressed with the service. The breakfast was also incredible, one of the best I’ve had.

They gave us a room with a great view (Sky tree and Tokyo Tower). It had an amazign bath tub and was a fully automated room. Incredible attention to detail and comfort amenities. The spa was absolutely amazing.,

Perfect location - 10 minute walk from two metro stations with easy access to all major attractions. Lovely quiet area to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The room was regularly refreshed and had everything that I needed and then some!

NetherlandsWe absolutely loved our stay at The Okura - genuine Japanese luxurious hospitality. The room was spacious, the view was fantastic. We had everything we could possibly think of. Japanese breakfast was served in the room and it was a truly memorable experience. Spa, swimming pool, gym are fantastic. We will definitely be back!
