Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalWe found the bathroom to be a bit smaller than expected, but this was a minor issue and didn't significantly impact our stay. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would recommend this hotel to others.
We had a fantastic stay. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, and the room was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of pillows and sitting space. The cleaning service was also good, ensuring our room was tidy throughout our stay. The location was perfect, as we were able to walk to the National Mall and enjoy the nearby dining options. Additionally, being close to the airport and train station was very convenient. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with no major complaints.

United KingdomThe soundproofing to the outside world was not very good so traffic noise could be heard at all times.
The hotel was newly renovated so was beautifully clean. The location was nice and central to easily access the sights.

United StatesIf you are arriving by car, you’ll need to arrange parking beforehand. The hotel has an unusual layout that can be a little confusing. Not that many amenities if you’re hoping for that. Bathrooms are unusually designed (no shelf in shower, only one towel hook, central ac blows into the shower).
Outstanding location, very nice neighborhood, easy access to GWU Metro, friendly and helpful hotel staff. Junior suite was very large, especially for a major city like DC.

United StatesThe bathroom was a good size but didn't care for pocket door and could 've used a couple of additional wall hooks. But shower was great!!
Staff was friendly and very helpful. Especially Ms Michelle on the front desk. Room was very comfy for 4 and beds were great. Location was very convenient to metro and great restaurants and Whole Foods. Tatti Cafe and Circa were great!!

United StatesThe clerk working the front desk when I checked in a little before midnight was cold and barely spoke; easily one of the unfriendliest check-ins I've had at any hotel. The other staff I encountered on subsequent days were nice, but it was a bad first impression. Also, I paid extra on Booking.com for a "view room" but the view was just of the hotel driveway; not worth it. Finally, I wish there were a top sheet on the bed; there was only a duvet, which was too warm.
Great location - barely two blocks from Foggy Bottom metro station, on a cute, tree-lined street in a charming, walkable neighborhood (and an easy walk to the rest of the city). The room was large and the bathroom was beautiful. Everything was very clean and there was daily housekeeping service.

IrelandWe were on the top for so there was some noise from the roof. Water or Air Con maybe. Windows a little loose and hotel is on the flight path for Reagan airport. Didn’t bother me but my wife did notice the noise.
Good sized room with tv and coffee maker. Bathroom clean and had quality toiletries. Housekeeping each day. Close to the metro in a quiet area. Very nice staff.

United StatesLots of street noise and we could hear all sounds outside and from the surrounding rooms. Also the A/C didn’t work. We were not aware of the $50 per night parking fee and were also told our truck was too big to park on site. The valet was very nice and provided a coupon for a parking garage .3 miles from the hotel. Staff was very friendly which made up for the other issues.
Good location.

United StatesThe Krups wasn't working. It didn't heat the coffee. I rely on that 1st cup. Something was weird with the windows. I got them ooen a few inches. It seemed like they were going to fall out of the track when I closed them. It would be nice to get PBS on TV. That is my go to.
Bed was very comfortable. Check in and out were easy. Good neighborhood so I felt comfortable walking back from dinner on I street in the dark. Black out drapes appreciated.
