Because my middle school daughter, who is in the rebellious stage, had a quarrel with her mother about a trivial matter at nearly nine o'clock that night, and her voice was loud and affected other guests. I am very sorry. I have stayed in no less than thirty hotels and hotels in Japan, and I think this hotel demonstrates the perfect balance of the three. The first balance is to combine Japanese tradition and modernity. While taking into account modern conveniences, it also shows the meticulousness of traditional Japanese culture. The second one is the perfect balance between privacy and openness. There are seven public baths with different characteristics. However, for foreigners who are not used to bathing in public baths, the hotel also provides private reservation bathing venues, which can be used by foreigners who do not like to go to public baths. For us, we can also enjoy the wonderful experience of local hot springs. The third beautiful balance is the transportation experience. It is very close to the station and takes less than three minutes to walk, which is very convenient for foreigners. There are buses nearby that can go to unique scenic spots, and you can go to various nearby scenic spots in a short time.Finally, this hotel is more affordable than local hot spring hotels. I think it is a great value for money. The above is my true feeling. It is really great. If you want to experience a great value for money trip, I recommend you to stay in this hotel.

Great breakfast was provided, and the staff are super nice even if there's a language barrier. It's a bit of a distance from the Onsen town but the staff picked us up from the train station and brought us to the hotel, then dropped us back off at the Onsen town with a pickup time and location to meet them when it was time to leave. They even loaned us umbrellas due to the rain. If you're on a budget but want to go to Kinosakionsen town and have a nice stay you can't do much better than this

Dinner served to room was great experience and delicious and server was helpful guiding us with the food. Private onsen was highlight of our stay. Be sure to take time to stroll around the beautiful town of Kinosaki.

Breakfast and dinner served in the room. Different variety for the two breakfasts over the two mornings. Dinner is the variety that you choose from the available set menus. We had the crab one night (local fresh crabs) and Tajimaya Beef the next night. Multi-course meals. Delicious and great service. They also arranged to have luggage delivered to near the train station so we could continued enjoying the town on checkout day. You should come here. The location is also excellent for being in the quieter part of town yet near the baths and ropeway.

Nishimuraya Honkan is an absolutely superb ryokan and amongst the top ryokans I have visited across many onsen towns in Japan. We stayed 3 nights. The atmosphere was beautiful and peaceful, the staff and service top notch, and the food is exquisite. Not all staff speak fluent English, but we had no issues communicating. We had the half board so dinners are served in our room while breakfasts are in a common room, with different menus every day. Every meal was meticulously prepared and a feast. We had the large Japanese style Horai room that had an open air bath (as well as open air shower - some may find it a bit cold in cooler months but it was fine for us in Spring), which was very enjoyable and relaxing. Don't miss the coffee/tea/juice area on the first floor that looks out to a lovely garden, and taking a walk in the garden to see their beautiful koi fish. Although the ryokan is about a 12 minute walk from Kinosakionsen Station, there is a bus from the station that can take you directly to the ryokan, and we were also able to get on the hotel's shuttle back to the station when we left. An amazing and highly recommended experience that's not to be missed if you ever visit Kinosaki Onsen.

Everything that Yamamotoya offered was beyond what I expected. Yes, it’s pricey compared to other types of accommodation. But be reminded that this is a ryokan, possibly family run. Even the dinner might be considered expensive but it is really a sight for the eyes and a feast for the palette. The adventure of onsen hopping is also wonderful experience for both first timers and repeaters.
