The atmosphere, the staff, the facilities and food! The food was incredibly delicious! The atmosphere is tranquil, and the staff is really kind as well!

Offering a garden and garden view, 高野山 宿坊 龍泉院 -Koyasan Shukubo Ryusenin- is set in Koyasan, 45 km from Matsushita Park and 48 km from Subaru Hall. What a memorable stay and experience. The garden is gorgeous, the monks are incredibly nice and the food was delightful. We also enjoyed the morning ceremony. We only stayed for one night yet we will always cherish this memory. Situated in Koyasan in the Wakayama region, 宿坊 光明院 features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. Everyone there was wonderful, willing to help even with the language barrier. The dinner and breakfast were delicious (if you stay more than one night, note that you'll eat the same dinner and breakfast) The room and all the temple was super clean and calm. It was a great place to stay! I really love the ceremonies that I could witness, meditation in the evening, morning ceremony and goma ceremony (fire ceremony). The one thing I was surprised by is that the showers are "Onsen Showers" so it's in a commun room, with little stools where you can clean yourself before entering the bath. Not a negative point, just something I wasn't expecting. Thanks to all the staff there for a wonderful stay!

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, 祇園の宿 杏花 is located in Kyoto, 300 metres from Gion Shijo Station and 600 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto. The place is beautiful and very central to visit Kyoto, the staff is very friendly and always attentive if we needed anything, a wonderful experience, we will return if possible.

Set in Shirahama, within 200 metres of Shirahama Beach and 1.2 km of Ezura Beach, Shirahama no Yado Daigo offers free WiFi throughout the property. The hostess (who's also the owner) was a very nice and friendly person. Breakfast was complimentary and the hostess even made breakfast by herself to guests every morning and it was delicious! The room is equipped with tatami floor and was super clean. There was no bed but instead futon was provided and you need to set it up by yourself at night which was interesting. It was a special experience to get a chance to sleep in a Japanese futon. If you don't know how to set it up they will help you too. The bathroom is big and equipments were new. The hotel is within 5 minutes walk to the beach. It's also close to a bus stop which takes you to surrounding sightseeing places. There are convenient store and supermarket within walking distance and you can buy fireworks there to play at the beach at night. If we come back to Shirahama in the future we will choose to stay here again.

Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. Provides accommodation located 600 metres from the centre of Kyoto and offers an open-air bath and a shared lounge. I can't say enough about this place, the staff were extremely helpful and kind, the room was amazing, and of course the dinner and breakfast.. again, amazing.. One of the highlights of our amazing trip to Japan!

Located within less than 1 km of Gion Shijo Station and a 15-minute walk of Samurai Kembu Kyoto, Ishibekoji Muan provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Kyoto. Everything was perfect. Sae san was very helpful with everything. Should have stayed there for more than 1 night :)
