Situated in Tokyo, 300 metres from Asakusa Fujiasama Shrine and 7.5 km from the centre, cyashitsu ryokan asakusa features air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and an open-air bath. This 3-star ryokan offers a lift and full-day security. The ryokan has a hot tub and luggage storage space. Immaculately cared for with the kindest staff I have ever encountered. You immediately feel at home and taken care of with small touches like skincare in the bathrooms, to big things like the private roof onsen available for free reservation. Fabulous breakfast and we were on our honeymoon so they surprised us with a decorated dessert and Polaroid photo of us!! Over the top kindness that makes me recommend this hotel to everyone and can’t imagine visiting Japan again without staying here.
Taito, Tokyo
Situated in Tokyo, within 1.5 km of Sensoji Temple and 2.2 km of Tokyo Skytree, Ryokan Nakadaya offers accommodation with a shared lounge. The property is set 3.5 km from Edo Tokyo Museum, 6 km from Marunouchi Building and 6 km from Yasukuni Shrine. Free WiFi is available. I stayed at Ryokan Nakadaya on the last leg of my Japan trip during spring. After having seen so much of that beautiful country over two busy weeks, I didn’t think Tokyo could get better than what I had already experienced. Little did I know, I would be so lucky to be in Tatsuo-san’s company. I received a warm welcome, and was showed around the property on arrival. I didn’t even have to carry my luggage to the room as Tatsuo-san took care of it. Each morning, he would ask which area of the city I am planning to visit, and would airdrop me the best recommendations – for food, sightseeing, shopping – you name it, including some rare locations like the Hayao Miyazaki clock which I loved! One morning when it was raining heavily, he offered me a fresh mochi along with some matcha, which was one of my favorite snacks in Japan. He would also perform a little ceremony sparking flint stones to bring me good luck on my travels. Starting my day with such cute interactions with Tatsuo-san was one of the most wonderful highlights of my trip. It felt like I made a friend! As far as the property goes – it’s a charming, vintage ryokan. Each corner is speckless – not only were the common areas cleaned every day by hardworking staff, but so were the rooms. The showers and bathrooms were always clean too, despite being shared. There was also a lobby-like area where you could have tea and enjoy some Japanese snacks. The (single) room itself is a good size for someone who is staying there as a traveler, as you would likely be venturing out during the day. I found the Tatami mats and the futon to be perfect for me as I don’t prefer extremely soft hotel beds, but Tatsuo-san did offer to put more mattresses, in case I wanted them. Like in any ryokan, you have to be careful not to damage the mats, but there are enough shelves and furniture to park your luggage and other bags comfortably. The internet was also fast.

It was our first time to stay in a traditional japanese house and we were really in awe of the facilities. Place is secured and immaculately clean. Mr. Saito was very generous to provide us from complete toiletries, sleepwear, free food which was more than enough for our stay, maps and even lent us his bicycle! If we could only stay longer. Will surely book this place when we return to Tokyo. Although nearest station is an eight minute walk, we didn’t mind since we also got to exercise

We stayed one night at this hotel in a family room due to an early morning flight. The family room was well set-up, with a tatami area where the futons were rolled up until we needed them. There are also 2 twin beds. The hotel is connected to Terminal 3 and a shopping center, so finding dinner was not a problem. The highlight was the Japanese onsen with 5 indoor pools and 3 outdoor pools. It was a nice soak before the long flight to finish our holiday.
Lovely ryokan in a great area of Tokyo. Warm-hearted welcome and lovely people. Delicious Japanese breakfast. Extremely comfortable beds! If you are looking for a Japanese style accommodation (ryokan with futon beds and tatami floored room) in Tokyo, Ito Ryokan is perfect!
Stylish and welcoming Ryokan, in a quieter part of Tokyo, yet 5 minutes walk to the metro stop. Rooms are tiny but well equipped, tatami mats with very comfortable futons. Shared bathrooms are good. Jacuzzi is a great bonus. And breakfast excellent, as is the coffee.
Very comfortable ryokan type features, tatami, shoe storage downstairs and then you walk around even barefoot. Nice rooms and excellent onsen with amazingly dark water. Plenty of restaurants, bars and shops around. And the Sensoji temple is just around the corner.
That's a good place for those looking for a traditional japanese ryokan experience: sleeping on a futon in tatami room in a traditional house in wood. Well located, personnel were very friendly and I felt as if it was my home.
traditional Japanese ryokan. I really liked the room with futon and tatami, small but has got everything you need!
The price was a steal. We paid so little and received such a relaxing place, beautiful looking, clean and with towels, yukata, brushes… everything was there. Such a lovely place and in a style of a ryokan. The futons were so fluffy. Loved it!!
Traditional experience in Tokyo. This accommodation offers a typical Japanese experience. The futon beds and the decoration make you experience the stay in a more authentic way. It has a very nice small onsen. There is a very nice cafe inside the ryokan and everything taste really nice!
Comfortable ryokan great base for seeing Tokyo, charming old establishment if your up for basic tatami mat sleeping on futons. It's a bit quirky compared to hotel.
