Great hotel.

We had a quiet day walking and looking around in the near area of the hotel, which made a relaxing pause in our journey.

High quality apartment, beds great etc.
High quality apartment, beds great etc. Problem was getting there was a hassel of the off road time with very difficult roads. Too expensive given that. And it was a construction site, per the picture out of our window.

There was a lot of noise.
There was a lot of noise. We weren't on the main building and when people walked in the hallway you got a lot of noises. Also the fan in the toilet turned on every time you turned on the lights and it stayed on for 15 minutes after.

We stayed in Kirkjubaerjarklaustur and made day trips to the glacier and to black beach. If you have a car, it is a great place. The scenery is beautiful and it is a good location to explore the south eastern part of the island. It is a bit of a drive for groceries and I suggest you buy them in Reykjavik or at a larger town on the way to the south.

Cute small town with a pretty waterfall at the top of the hill. A couple of restaurants and a small market were easily available. The hotel we stayed at was outside of the town itself but was an easy drive away. The town was also close to many beautiful sights, including Vatnajokull National Park and Diamond Beach.

Great location, especially if you are in Iceland only for couple of days, this would be one of the best choices. From this location, you can make several amazing trips to the surrounding locations. The most interesting places offered by southern Iceland are reacheble from this area as a "base camp".

The apartment is like motel in US that you can park your car close to your room. The amenities are super complete. The building is also quite new I believe. The room has kitchen with everything we need, except oil. But everything is there. The place is suitable for couple visiting Iceland. The place is built on an open space, out of nowhere in Iceland, so during my stay we could see aurora borealis 2 nights in a row. Very good place. Really recommended to everyone!!
Breakfast was provided by the hotel and included fish, cheese, and fresh baked bread among other items. It's located between Vik and the Glacier Lagoon, making it an ideal place to stop. As a lovely surprise, Fjadrargljufur (Feather River Canyon) is a five-minute drive up the road and made for a stunning sunset walk/hike. We also had dinner there one night and the food was delicious! The staff were cheerful, welcoming and very helpful.
The cottages were from "the old days", before mass tourism came to Iceland. They were cute, very clean and tidy. No luxury bathroom. It was an "Iceland as it used to be"-feeling. Since we had an appointment at Jökullsarlon in the morning we had to leave very early so we couldn´t consume breakfeast. The staff was so friendly, arranged some food for to go with bags.. Really great!
The guesthouses are right next to a wonderful canyon (about 1 km away) which is one of the best we've seen so far in Iceland. Staff was helpful in explaining what to explore in the area and gave us some info on a SMS warning we have received from the Government (about a flooding - but the SMS was sent too late). Breakfast had a good selection of food.
Was a lovely stay. We had a very late check in so got a personal note left for us at the reception with instructions of where to find the room and the keys. Comfortable bed, great shower, all what is needed after a long day tracking and exploring beautiful Iceland. Great breakfast.
This place is not fancy but we really loved it! The rooms were very clean and had everything you need. Nice breakfast options on site. Great location for a stop on our trip across southern Iceland. We chose this place specifically because they had a triple room as an option.
We were upgraded to the Magma Hotel, to a room with a big glass sliding door facing a mild show of the Northern Lights that went on all night. As a result I can't really comment on the Landbrot Guesthouse, but it is in the same location which was wonderful!
We rented 4 individual bungalows for our group of family & friends. They were rustic & lovely! Exactly what we wanted. Quiet and set away from the hotel but an easy walk to the restaurant/bar. We would definitely go back.
Such an interesting location if you want to experience a good quiet Icelandic night. Beautiful surroundings, only 47 km from Vik. The cottage had everything you need for long as well as short stays. Strongly recommended
The location is perfect to look for Aurora. There is enough kitchen space for everyone and a very big common room with a perfect view. The rooms are big and have a sink. You can find many magazines about Iceland there
Our delayed baggage was delivered to us at Hotel Laki while we were driving up from Vik. Ms Aviva, , hotel staff, has kindly helped us to receive our baggage when we were still on our way. Good customer service.
Very clean, quiet and comfortable, which is exactly what we needed. Although we used the kitchen and dining room area it felt like a hotel, especially the bathrooms which were very nice and had nice hot water.
The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good, fairly standard for what I would expect for a decent Iceland hotel. The supper buffet was also good. Very quiet, rural location.
The rooms are so comfortable, big and warm. The view is excellent. The Bistro is really, really good at night. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Highly suggest this hotel
Breakfast was very good. The rooms were large. The shower was large. The bathroom included a towel warmer. The hotel was convenient for sites in south eastern Iceland.
Great location for visiting the southeast side of Iceland
Nice river view from the patio
Common area was nice for our group
Good sized rooms for each couple
Cute property with GREAT unexpected hiking trails directly behind the property. Forests as the background which was unlike most of the parts of Iceland we saw!
