As a Uruguayan living in Sweden, I always take my vacations in Uruguay. Due to the pandemic that has become impossible, so I wanted to pick a country with a coastline towards the Atlantic and Portugal was the perfect match. I had already visited the Algarve last year and knew I wanted to live in a rural location between Aljezur and Odeceixe, so Rogil was what I was looking for. If you really, really want tranquility and peace of mind Herdade de Vagem is truly the place for you. The silence, the closeness to amazing nature like the beach of Praia do Vale dos Homes, the small country roads and friendly people. You have it all here. The host was very attentive and responsive to messages during my stay. As I was coming with food that would have otherwise been spoiled, I was allowed to check in earlier as there were no previous guests. The apartment was simply perfect for me in size. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen perfect in size. The week I stayed simply flew away. In one way or another I will come back, that is for sure.

Abacatus Farmhouse in Tavira provides adults-only accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a terrace. We loved staying at Abacatus Farmhouse. The pool was great. It was easy to find using google maps, a short drive into Tavira, and to Tavira Island. Our suite had everything we needed, very comfortable. Sani is an excellent host who provided a delicious breakfast and was very helpful with everything we needed.

Boasting garden views, BeGuest Casas de Taipa provides accommodation with terrace, around 8.7 km from Slide & Splash Water Park. We loved everything about our stay here. So well appointed, it really was amazing. Can't fault it. Really comfortable bed, easy self check in with clear instructions, an absolute dream stay. We didn't have our own car but it was easy, quick and cheap to get an uber. Highly recommend.

D07 - Torraltinha Villa in Lagos has a terrace and is located in Lagos, within just 1 km of Praia do Pinhão and 1 km of Batata Beach. The outdoor area was a real treat. The Villa is spacious and comfortable and walking distance to the beaches and old quarter

Home Village, a property with barbecue facilities, is situated in Vila do Bispo, 35 km from Aljezur Castle, 45 km from Algarve International Circuit, as well as 10 km from Fortress of Sagres. Great little apartment with everything we needed! Set a little ways on the edge of town so it felt more quiet. We appreciated having access to a washing machines though we could have used some basic instructions. The settings on the machine were unclear, but maybe we are just not familiar with machines made for European users.

Featuring a garden, barbecue facilities and views of inner courtyard, O Nosso Lar is set in Lagos, 16 km from Santo António Golf Course. Everything! From Milton's availability, to the structure. We loved every single part of it. The owner also made available veggies from his garden. I used them to cook a few meals. Such a nice thought from him. The apartment was very clean and equipped.

Located in Tavira, 7.5 km from Island of Tavira and 42 km from Church of São Lourenço, Casa Família Cardoso provides air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. This was a beautifully decorated, functional, fully equipped and very clean apartment. We loved our stay and wish we had booked for longer. Our hosts were friendly and helpful.

Offering barbecue facilities and quiet street view, Biscuttela Vicentina is situated in Praia da Arrifana, 500 metres from Arrifana Beach and 7.5 km from Aljezur Castle. We rented the apartment on the first floor for a month. It was easily one of the best places we've ever stayed as a family of four. The apartment is very safe for toddlers which was important for us (There's no stuff that they can break, there are not gaps where they can fall, etc.). The kitchen is very well equipped; we've found there everything that we needed (which is rare). The hosts were very welcoming and responsive during our stay. Because we'd stayed there for quite some time we've got couple of extra cleaning services which was very thoughtful.

Located within 13 km of Island of Tavira and 41 km of Church of São Lourenço, Quinta dos Netos provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Tavira. we rented 2 houses for our family, super nice to have one pool for each family. each house was very well equipped with kitchen stuff and bbq but we loved the shared space with a fridge stocked with cool drinks, barbecue area. the hosts and property staff were super nice. we loved the dog, Nina, a gentle giant :)
